Apple Arcade a month later: keeping your subscription or canceling?

On September 18, 2019, Apple welcomed one of its newest subscription services to market: Apple Arcade. It featured a one month free trial right out of the gate, which is now winding down.

If you signed up for Apple Arcade on day one, then your free trial is about to end. So consider this a bit of a public service announcement: if you don’t want to keep your Apple Arcade subscription and don’t want to get charged that $4.99, then you’ll want to cancel your subscription today.

Apple Arcade costs $4.99 per month and is a catalog of games that can be played on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and tvOS devices. There are no in-app purchases to speak of, and the titles do not include any advertisements, either. The Apple Arcade library features more than one hundred games, and it’s safe to say that many of the games that are already available (and have been since day one) are pretty fantastic.

Personal favorites include Grindstone, Assemble With Care, Card of Darkness, and Sneaky Sasquatch. There are a variety of genres, from action titles, platformers, puzzle games, and more. However, if the $4.99 per month cost is not worth it to you, you’ll want to cancel your subscription today to avoid any charges.

There is a lot to look forward to with Apple Arcade as well. Just recently we heard that the next game from Hipster Whale, Crossy Road Castle, is coming soon to the subscription service. And earlier today it was confirmed that the long-gestating gravity-agnostic puzzle game Manifold Garden is coming to the service on Friday, October 18.

Earlier in October, Apple added five new games in one go to Apple Arcade.

So then, it’s been a month since the launch of Apple Arcade. Do you plan on keeping your subscription active, or will you be ending yours? Let us know in the comments below.
