If youāre in the market for an inexpensive iPhone, your best bet is to actually wait until Apple’s rumored second-generation iPhone SE model arrives in early 2020.
According to analysts Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities, the new iPhone SE is scheduled to hit the market in the first quarter of next year, starting at just $399.
According to Kuoās research note seen by MacRumors, it will feature Appleās latest A13 Bionic chip, same as the iPhone 11 family, and use Haptic Touch instead of 3D Touch.
Moreover, the second-generation iPhone SE should rock three gigabytes of LPDDR4X RAM and include 64GB and 128GB models available in Silver, Space Gray and Red colors.
Looking at those spec, itās clear that the iPhone SE 2 will only share the name with its predecessor ā Kuoās earlier research note described a device featuring design and form factor similar to that of the iPhone 8 with a display size pegged at 4.7 inches.
The analyst expects the device will be a ākey growth driverā for the Cupertino firm in 2020, shipping an estimated 30 million units throughout 2020. It should prove itself especially popular with owners of the older iPhone 6/6s models looking to upgrade, Kuo has added.
