In this edition of our Apps of the Week roundup, we have an app for story-telling, a smarter music client, and augmented reality pets. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
Dumplings
Dumplings is an app where anyone can come and share a story from their life and experiences. If you’ve ever had an argument with a boss or won a tournament of something after extensive preparation, you can share those stories here in a bite-sized brain dump, or “dumpling.” Sharing is anonymous, and you can track the impact you have on the community.
Melodia Music
Melodia is a smarter, simpler, and more playful music app. It does away with traditional concepts of playlists and stations, and instead gives you a single “smart” radio station that uses state-of-the-art machine learning and AI that’s personalized for you. It takes data like time, location, activity and more into consideration to deliver the right song at the right time.
Animar: real wild pets in AR
Have you ever dreamt of having a real Lion, Tiger, Elephant or Panda cub as a pet? Then you may want to check out Animar, which enables you to take care of realistic, interactive animals in augmented reality, as if they were real pets. You do everything for these animals, from rescuing them from captivity, to playing with them and feeding them. It’s like AR tamagotchi.
Bend!
Bend! is a puzzler platformer that offers a unique twist, or ‘bend,’ on the classic Snake title. In this game you must steer your snake through obstacles in order to complete each level and progress. Tap and hold to stretch your snake, let go and watch it bend itself to match the terrain. But you better make sure your snake is long enough to reach the next target!
Xenowerk Tactics
Play as the commander of an emergency response team after a disaster at a secret lab, hidden deep in the arctic region. Your task is to cover up and maximize profits for the Xenowerk corporation, or to save the world, the choice is yours. Features include deep single-player storyline, tactical squad-based, real-time combat, character development, offline play, and more!
