If you’re lucky enough to sport a jailbroken iPhone X-style handset, be it an iPhone X, XR, or XS, then you might be interested in giving the standard Status Bar battery icon an upgrade.

Bazzi 2 is a new jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Blake Boxberger that permits two different types of battery-centric Status Bar customization, including integral battery icon displays and notch-based battery displays:

As shown in the screenshot examples above, Bazzi 2 changes how your handset tells you about the remaining battery percentage. It can replace the standard Status Bar battery icon with something more aesthetically pleasing, or it can display a green line along the perimeter of the display/notch to indicate the same information.

Bazzi 2 is a remake of the original Bazzi jailbreak tweak, and with that in mind, it shares a lot in common with its predecessor. For the most part, the options provided by both tweaks are almost identical, minus a few new styles to pick from:

Here, you can:

  • Choose the battery level indicator style
    • Battery
    • Circle
    • Percentage
    • % + Battery
  • Toggle the notch-based battery indicator on or off
  • Have the notch-based battery indicator pulse while charging
  • Make text in the battery level indicator bold
  • Make text in the battery level indicator colored
  • Hide or show the battery level indicator icon

A Respring button is provided at the bottom of the preference pane so that you can save any changes you make on demand.

While I do like what Bazzi 2 does with the battery level indicator on X-style handsets, one thing I don’t like is that Bazzi 2 costs $2.99 – that’s $1.00 more than the asking price of the original Bazzi jailbreak tweak when we showed it to you in 2018. For what seems like the same functionality out of the box, Bazzi 2 seems to me like a guiltless money grab. But if you want this functionality badly enough, I’m sure you’ll manage to cough up the dough for it.

Those interested in snagging Bazzi 2 can do so for $2.99 from the Dynastic Repo in Cydia or Sileo. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 11 and 12 devices.
