Augment your iPhone’s Home screen with Vigor 2

If you’ve just jailbroken your A12(X)-equipped (or other) iPhone or iPad for the first time, then you’re probably looking for some juicy jailbreak tweaks to spice up your handset’s stock capabilities. Fortunately, we’ve got an exciting one to show you today called Vigor 2 by the Atom Dev Team.

As shown in the screenshot examples above, Vigor 2 makes your Home screen icons a whole lot more useful by replacing the standard still images with dynamic widgets that change based on the content transpiring inside the respective app.

For example:

  • The Gmail app icon displays ‘No Notifications’ if there are no new emails
  • The Weather app icon displays temperature and weather conditions outside
  • The Health app icon displays the current number of steps you’ve walked
  • The Messages app icon displays ‘No Notifications’ if there are no missed messages
  • And more…

Vigor 2 supports a plethora of apps, and you can configure them by entering ‘jiggle’ mode and tapping on the “Vigor” button at the top left of your display. This interface tells you precisely which apps you have that are supported by the tweak and how they’ll respond to the tweak.

If you hadn’t already noticed, Vigor 2 also adds a toggle button to Control Center, allowing you to turn the feature on or off on demand.

Once installed, you’ll find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app to configure Vigor 2:

Here, you can:

  • Toggle Vigor 2 on or off on demand
  • Enable or disable dark mode

The developer provides a Respring button at the bottom of the preference pane so that you can save any changes you make.

Just yesterday, we showed you a similar jailbreak tweak called Mowgli by iOS developer maximehip. Both tweaks attempt to do the same thing, but we think that Vigor 2 offers a more polished interface with more functionality out of the box for the exact same price.

Those interested in trying Vigor 2 can download the tweak for $0.99 from the Packix repository in Cydia or Sileo. The tweak supports all jailbroken iOS 12 handsets.

Will you be installing Vigor 2? Tell us why or why not in the comments section below!
