Sileo v1.5.0 beta 1 now available for testing with 2x speed boost and dark mode

The Sileo Team took to the @GetSileo Twitter account early Thursday morning to tease the imminent release of an updated beta version of the Sileo package manager with more than twice the speed performance of the latest public release.

As of just an hour ago, that beta version is now available for testers. Those using the Electra Team’s Chimera or Electra jailbreaks are free to download Sileo Beta v1.5.0 beta 1 from the default repository on each jailbreak:

In a video attached to the original Tweet, we can see just how zippy the Sileo beta app runs on a particularly old iPhone 5s (pro tip: click on the image of the Tweet above to watch the video). Given the circumstances, it should come as no surprise to anyone that this version of the Sileo beta would run much faster and more reliably on newer handsets.

In addition to the speed improvements, the Sileo Team touted the app’s native dark mode, which reminded us very much of the design aesthetic used by Apple in iOS 13.

It’s worth noting that the Sileo Beta won’t outright replace the standard Sileo installation on a jailbroken handset; instead, it installs alongside the standard installation, allowing beta testers to try out the app’s latest features and improvements safely without the risk of breaking or corrupting their only package manager.

These updates should make their way to the public release channel within several days or a few short weeks. As always, we’ll continue to keep you updated as progress continues.
