Apple on Tuesday officially unveiled a brand new iPad.
Today, Apple has unveiled a brand new iPad. This is the new, 7th-generation iPad. This display measures in at 10.2 inches for the Retina display. According to Apple it has 3.5 million pixels, powered by an A10 Fusion chip. This makes it 2 times faster than the “best-selling” PC on the market.
This new iPad also connects with the Smart Connector, which means you can connect a full-size Smart Keyboard as well. Apple also announced the new iPad will take full advantage of iPadOS right out of the box. That includes a redesigned Home screen, support for the Apple Pencil, and more.
The must-have Apple Pencil opens up new ways to be creative and more productive and is even more integrated into the iPad experience. Customers can now mark up and send entire webpages or documents by simply swiping Apple Pencil from the bottom corner of the screen, and a redesigned tool palette gives easier access to useful tools, colors and shapes.
Apple says the new iPad also weighs “about a pound”. The company confirms the new 10.2-inch iPad’s case is made from 100% recycled aluminum as well.
The new 7th-generation iPad starts at $329. For education customers, it’s $299. Customers can order today, and it starts shipping on September 30. iPadOS will be available for the newest iPad right out of the box.
