Pwn20wnd updated the unc0ver jailbreak tool to version 3.5.1 Monday morning with a plethora of improvements, including but not limited to faster and more reliable jailbreaking on supported devices running iOS 12.4.
The hacker announced the latest update within the past hour via Twitter, crediting @umanghere for a revised Sock Puppet exploit that purportedly made all of this possible:
Citing the change log on Pwn20wnd’s official GitHub page, unc0ver v3.5.1 incorporates the following changes:
08/19/2019 – v3.5.1 was released for production with the following changes:
– Add the updated SockPuppet 3.0 exploit by @umanghere
– Remove the SockPort and SockPort2 exploits
– Update system-memory-reset fix to fix random reboots
– Add Apple to the credits section for development
– Fix error at stage 2 when jailbreaking after updating from a lower firmware while preserving the app data
– Fix the app crashing up on stared up on iOS 11
From what we can gather, this update also resolves jailbreaking errors, random reboots, and app crashes in addition to adding the updated Sock Puppet exploit, and as a teaser to Apple for accidentally re-enabling this exploit on iOS 12.4, Pwn20wnd credited “Apple” in the credits in the unc0ver app.
