In this edition of our Apps of the Week roundup, we have apps aimed at helping you achieve your goals and deal with anxiety, and a website blocker to help keep you on task. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
LifeWheel is a productivity app that helps you get things done, form good habits and achieve your goals. I know there are a lot of these types of apps out there, but this one intends to stand out with its sharp, intuitive interface, built-in reminders and categories, todo lists with sub tasks, and much more. Did you know that writing down your goals increases the probability you’ll achieve them by 11%?
So here is something rather unique. This app is called Worrydolls, and it’s aimed at helping people with anxiety using cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness. As the name suggests, it’s essentially a digital version of the old ‘worrydoll’ technique, where you tell a doll your worry and it bears the weight for you. The dolls are adorable and you can even track your worries over time.
Do you often become distracted by websites like YouTube and Facebook while trying to complete work or other projects? Well, you might want to check out about:blank. The app allows you to block websites in Safari, on both iOS and macOS, on the fly so you can stay focused. Sites are blocked using regular expressions, so you can block say…the YouTube landing page, but still see individual videos.
If you are a fan of puzzle, and or turn-based strategy games, this one is for you. It’s called Spy Tactics, and you are tasked with completing a series of missions by solving a variety of puzzles fro picking door locks to hacking computer terminals. There are over 40 levels, of varying degrees of difficulty, and several ways to beat each level. All of this combined with unique visuals should make for a good time.
Looking for something a little more mindless and action-packed? Check out OutRush – Synthwave Action. Picture this: you are stuck in an alternate reality and you must embark on a hyper styled journey through a gorgeous universe to get back. Features include fast-paced, 1-minute levels, one-finger gameplay, gorgeous retro-wave visuals and beautiful synth music, and much more.
