In this edition of our Apps of the Week roundup, we have a new crypto-investing platform, a party playlist assistant and an email client that offers an IM-like experience. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
Ever wanted to get into cryptocurrency but had no idea where to start? Check out Snowball. The app makes it easy to securely buy crypto portfolios including bitcoin, ethereum and other cryptos, at the touch of a button. It selects the crypto based on your investment time horizon and aversion to risk, and you can sell at any time.
UpNext is an app that enables everyone in a party to queue up songs and vote on what’s played next—no more fighting over the aux cable. I know there are similar apps out there (in fact, I believe we’ve mentioned some of them on here), but this one supports Spotify and Chromecast, and has a great looking interface.
If you’re in the market for a new email client, or if you’re looking for a whole new way of emailing, check out Chirp Mail. The app promises to ‘redefine’ the email experience. It works a lot like instant messagin and uses a distributed and decentralized network. Plus, it supports Gmail, Office 365, Outlook/Hotmail and Yahoo.
Here is a game with an educational twist – it can actually help you improve your math intuition. Dot IQ is a simple arcade-like game in which you are given two sides, each filled with dots and you must quickly determine which side has the most. Pick correctly and you move on. Inspired by research and backed by scientific study.
Rather just blow stuff up? Then AR Tanks might be more your speed. As the name suggests, the game uses your compatible device to project augmented reality gameplay on a flat surface. There are over 20,000 tank combinations to choose from, 40 levels to play through, co-op survival mode, and local multiplayer for up to 4 friends.
