Unc0ver versions 3.4.1 and 3.4.2 released to add iOS 12.3 beta 1 support and improve reliability

We saw an update for the iOS 12-based Chimera jailbreak tool earlier today, and like clockwork, it seems that Pwn20wnd has released a couple of updates for the unc0ver jailbreak for iOS 11 and 12 as well.

Pwn20wnd announced the updates just minutes ago via Twitter, and as it would seem, unc0ver v3.4.2 is now the latest release available to the public. Unc0ver v4.3.2 was released just shortly after v4.3.1:

Citing the official change logs on Pwn20wnd’s GitHub page, unc0ver versions 4.3.1 and 4.3.2 incorporate the following changes:

07/25/2019 – v3.4.1 was released for production with the following changes:

– Fix the sandbox swap error when using the exploits that are not SockPuppet

– Add the SockPort 1.5 exploit by @jakeajames for A7-A9X devices (Reliability: ~95% from extensive testing)

– Disable the SockPuppet exploit on A7-A7X due to reliability issues

– Add iOS 12.3~b1 support to the jailbreak (Verified working on iPhone 5s)

– Fix a theoretical reliability bug with SockPuppet

07/25/2019 – v3.4.2 was released for production with the following changes:

– Fix the SockPuppet kernel exploit not displaying on A8-A8X devices

From what we can gather, the primary takeaways from these updates is the support for iOS 12.3 beta and some exploit shuffling on certain device and firmware combos to ensure better reliability overall. The latest release purportedly resolves an issue where the Sock Puppet exploit wouldn’t display as an option on A8-A8X devices.

If you’re using an earlier version of the unc0ver jailbreak, the we’d advise downloading and deploying v3.4.2 at your earliest convenience. As always, you can download the latest version of unc0ver from Pwn20wnd’s official GitHub page, and you can follow the steps outlined in our detailed tutorial if you’ve never jailbroken with unc0ver before.
