Chimera v1.2.6 brings Sock Puppet 2 support for iOS 12.1-12.2 devices

The Electra Team released an updated version of the iOS 12-centric Chimera jailbreak tool on Thursday, a move that brings the tool up to version 1.2.6.

The Electra Team announced the update just last night via Twitter, noting that it would implement @NedWilliamson’s Sock Puppet 2 exploit for increased exploit reliability on devices running iOS 12.1-12.2:

Based on the announcement, it also seems that iOS 12.0-12.0.1 devices will continue to take advantage of the Sock Puppet 1.5, Mach Swap 2 or Voucher Swap exploits, depending on the circumstances, as the performance may be better.

It’s worth noting that Chimera supports A7-A11 devices running iOS 12.1.3-12.2, and all other devices running iOS 12.0-12.1.2. Chimera also supports some beta versions of iOS 12.3, but it cannot jailbreak beta 6.

If you’re a Chinera user, then you’d do good to download and use the latest version of the tool such that you can take advantage of all the latest improvements. As always, Chimera is a free download from the Electra Team’s official Chimera website, and you can use our step-by-step tutorial to help you jailbreak a compatible device.
