Apple seeds seventh beta of iOS 12.4 to developers and public testers

Apple on Tuesday officially seeded the latest beta of iOS 12.4 to developers ahead of an expected summer launch.

For those registered as a developer with the company, the new software can be downloaded and installed directly from Apple’s developer portal. It can also be downloaded by heading to Settings –> General –> Software Update.

The latest beta is also available for public beta testers as well. If you are not already signed up, you can do so right here.

There weren’t any new discoveries regarding new features tied to iOS 12.4 in the previous developer beta, so it’s possible that will continue to be the case this time around as well. However, it is widely expected that iOS 12.4 will usher in support for Apple’s first own-branded credit card, the Apple Card.

The credit card is expected to launch this summer, and iOS 12.4’s public launch could coincide with the card’s arrival.

If Apple does add any new features to the latest iOS 12.4 developer beta, we will update this post accordingly. Of course, if you try out the latest developer beta and discover anything new, share your findings in the comments below.

The last big update to iOS was version 12.3. That update only added one major new feature to the mobile operating system, bringing with it the revamped Apple TV app and new Channels feature. Apple did update iOS 12.3 to version 12.3.1 not too long ago, which brought with it fixes for VoLTE and Messages.

iOS 13 is what’s next for Apple, which the company officially announced in early June at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference. That includes a variety of new features, including a system-wide Dark Mode, and much more.

If you aren’t a developer, do you try out pre-release software on your primary device? Or do you wait for the public launch? Have you tried out the previous versions of the iOS 12.4 beta? If so, how has performance been so far?
