Jailbreak tweaks of the week: AutoDynamicWallpaper, GlyphAlert, NetworkManager, and more

If you have a jailbroken handset in your possession and you’re wondering how you can augment its features and functionality, then you’ve come to the right place.

In this roundup, we’ll recap all the newest jailbreak tweak releases from Monday, July 8th to Sunday, July 14th. As usual, we’ll kick things off by discussing our favorite releases first, and we’ll outline the rest afterward.

Our favorite releases this week

AutoDynamicWallpaper – $2.99

Live Photos are a great feature of iOS, but if you’ve ever set one as your wallpaper before, then you might’ve been less than impressed by Apple’s native implementation.

AutoDynamicWallpaper attempts to improve this experience by forcing all Live Photo-centric wallpapers to play automatically when you wake your device or receive a push notification. The tweak can be configured based on your battery impact preference.

You can learn more about AutoDynamicWallpaper and how it works in our full review.

GlyphAlert – $2.00

iOS’ native notification system has been somewhat stagnant for the last several years, but with a newly-released jailbreak tweak called GlyphAlert, you can make them fun and exciting again.

GlyphAlert displays user-configurable glyphs on a pitch-black screen when you receive a notification from one of your apps. You can assign custom glyphs to specific apps, configure their color and behavior, and much more.

You can learn more about GlyphAlert and why it’s an upgrade over the stock notification system experience in our full review.

NetworkManager – $1.49

Your iPhone moves from one cellular radio to the next as you move out of range of certain cellular towers, and sometimes, it drops to a less-preferred cellular radio based on signal strength, including 2G or 3G instead of 4G LTE.

If you find that your iPhone’s data connection gets too slow at times because of the instance mentioned above, then you might enjoy a new jailbreak tweak called NetworkManager, as it can help lock your handset to a specific cellular radio, regardless of signal strength.
