Apple registers five new iPad models with Eurasian database

If there was any doubt that Apple was planning on launching new iPad models at some point before the end of 2019, then a new listing in a Eurasian database may squash that.

MySmartPrice has confirmed that Apple has officially registered five new iPad models, each of which is running iPadOS –the brand new iPad-specific variant of iOS set to launch this fall– with the Eurasian Economic Commission. The new model numbers are: A2068, A2197, A2198, A2228, and A2230.

Unfortunately, while the Eurasian database does confirm that each of the new iPads are running the new mobile operating system, it does not provide us any major further details. So while this does seem like a strong indicator that new tablets are on the way from Apple, and could launch before the end of this year, plans could change. Nothing is official just yet.

As it stands right now, word on the street is that Apple is planning on launching a new 10.2-inch iPad model, which could be the company’s new budget model. In addition, even faster iPad Pros are also expected to be unveiled later this year.

The listing with the Eurasian database does seem to suggest that we should expect to see new iPad models, either a standard iPad or new iPad Pro units, before the end of 2019. But there are also some rumors out there that state Apple could launch the new iPad models in early 2020, too, so there appears to still be some wiggle room.

Would you be in the market for a new iPad model later this year or early next? If so, would a new entry-level iPad with a 10.2-inch display be the way you go, or would you opt for a new iPad Pro?
