Samsung to unveil Galaxy Note 10 on August 7

The next Note is unveiling on August 7, Samsung indicated in a press release this morning.

“On August 7, Samsung Electronics will unveil new devices designed to take the Galaxy ecosystem’s connectivity to the next level,” reads the press release. “The reveal will take place at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event in New York,” at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. The official invite, seen above, shows a stylus pointing to what seems to be a small camera lens.

Even though the next Note is not specifically mentioned in the release, it’s pretty clear from the accompanying video, which I’ve embedded below, which device the event will primarily focus on. Besides, Samsung has traditionally reserver Unpacked events for new Note reveals.

One thing: The press release mentions devices, not a single device, but don’t let that confuse you. Like in years past, this reveal will most likely include an updated S Pen stylus along with perhaps an enhanced Dex docking station and other potential accessories.

It’s been quite some time since we heard anything positive about the Note brand so this will be Samsung’s chance to shine following the ill-fated, exploding Note 8. Samsung will stream the event live via its websites and YouTube channels. Launching the new Note in August will certainly give it some lead time ahead of Apple’s iPhone announcement in September.

The rumor-mill thinks Note 10 will have four rear cameras and a hole-punch display similar to the Galaxy S10 range. Some models may feature 5G connectivity and there’s also talk of a Pro version with a 6.7-inch display. Considering Samsung’s latest fiasco with the Foldable Fold smartphone, it desperately needs some positive press around the new Note.
