This tweak plays a Live Photo of your choice when someone calls you

iOS’ native incoming call interface can be somewhat bland at first glance, and that’s precisely why iOS developer Anima has released a new jailbreak tweak dubbed Incoming Call LivePhoto (A12 Support).

Just as the name implies, Incoming Call LivePhoto replaces the bland incoming call background with a Live Photo of your choosing, ensuring that you always have something cool to look at when your iPhone starts ringing.

As you’ll see in the screenshot examples above, Incoming Call LivePhoto integrates directly with iOS’ native wallpaper selection interface, allowing users to tap on a new “Set Incoming” option in addition to the standard “Set Lock Screen,” “Set Home Screen,” and “Set Both” options.

Here’s a video demonstration showcasing how the tweak works:

Upon installing Incoming Call LivePhoto, you’ll find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where you can configure the tweak to your liking:

Here, you can:

  • Toggle Incoming Call LivePhoto on or off on demand
  • Enable or disable Live Photo looping

The developer provides a Respring button here so that you can save any changes you make to the preference pane.

It’s worth noting that Incoming Call LivePhoto only supports incoming calls via the Lock screen at the time of version 1.0.0, but a future update should change this. Moreover, the tweak only natively supports the iPhone 6s and later, but you can add support for the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, and SE with the help of another jailbreak tweak called LivePhotoForNon3DTouch.

Those interested in trying Incoming Call LivePhoto can download it for $4.99 from the Packix repository in Cydia or Sileo, and while that is a steep asking price, we think the tweak offers some fairly exciting functionality. The tweak supports all jailbroken iOS 11 and 12 devices that support 3D Touch and Live Photos.
