If you have a Fusion Drive-equipped Mac running macOS Mojave and you’ve run into Boot Camp issues, then Apple has a quick patch to help iron the issues out.
On Thursday, Apple released a minor software update for macOS Mojave 10.14.5. This is specifically billed as a software update to address issues with Boot Camp, Apple’s software that lets Mac owners run alternate desktop operating systems on their Apple-branded hardware, including Microsoft’s Windows 10.
According to Apple, there has been an issue discovered within macOS Mojave 10.14.5 that can prevent Boot Camp from creating a partition on an iMac or Mac mini equipped with a Fusion Drive:
This update addresses an issue which prevents creation of a  new Boot Camp partition on iMac and Mac mini with Fusion Drive.
The file size for the update is just 1.9MB, so it should not take long to download and install. It’s not known at the time of publication if Mac owners running machines not equipped with a Fusion Drive have run into similar issues with Boot Camp. However, with the fact that this is meant specifically for two models, it seems more likely that this is not a widespread issue.
