It was only yesterday that the first glimpse of a new LG-branded 4K display surfaced. And now Apple is officially selling the brand new external display to would-be buyers.
Apple on Tuesday officially started selling the 23.7-inch 4K UltraFine Display from LG. The accessory actually went on sale, very quietly, just yesterday, but availability was very limited. Now, the new LG UltraFine 4K Display is available for customers in the United States with much better availability.

Apple is selling the new 23.7-inch 4K display for $699.95. That aforementioned resolution is actually lower than the 4096×2304 resolution in the previous 21.5-inch UltraFine 4K Display LG and Apple were selling. However, this still defines this new display as an Ultra HD (UHD) display, so that specification can still be ticked off the list.
LG is including a single Thunderbolt 3 cable in the box, which offers up to 85W of charging to keep a notebook chugging along. One improvement over the original 21.5-inch model is the inclusion of a second Thunderbolt 3 port. That means you should not have any issues connecting it to the brand new MacBook Pro models Apple announced today.
Apple currently lists the new 23.7-inch LG UltraFine 4K Display as being available for in-store pickup beginning today. In some markets, if you prefer to have yours shipped it can be delivered in as early as two hours with the fastest shipping option. With the free shipping option you can expect your new external display to arrive on Thursday, May 23.
This is a size upgrade from the first 21.5-inch 4K display that LG launched back in 2016. However, the decrease in resolution might make it a nonstarter for some potential buyers.
