Looks like iOS 13 is getting some new Animoji: a cow, octopus, mouse—and an emoji face

Aside from a bunch of significant changes coming to iOS 13 down the pike, Apple customers can expect some new Animoji characters like a cow, an octopus, a mouse and an emoji face.

Irish developer Steven Troughton-Smith made the claim earlier this morning.

“It looks like iOS 13 might get some new Animoji — a cow, octopus, mouse and an emoji face. That last one sounds like it has potential for shenanigans,” he wrote on Twitter.

I wonder if a mouse might be Mickey Mouse? Apple has partnered with Disney on branded content in the past and Apple Watch includes the Mickey and Pixar watch faces. If prior iOS releases are an indication, these new Animoji are probably arriving with iOS 13.1, not iOS 13.0.

iOS 13 will also pick up a bunch of other changes and feature additions this year, including a system-wide Dark Mode and iPad support for app windows with detachable panels.

There will be a unified Find My iPhone/Friends app with support for personal item tracking via Apple’s upcoming Tile-like tags. iOS 13 will also support tabs in apps and same app Split View, as well as let youopen multiple windows in a single app on iPad.

iOS 13 will be previewed at WWDC 2019 on June 3 ahead of its fall launch.
