How to enable Do Not Disturb for Alexa and Amazon Echo

Just like with your iPhone, Alexa has a Do Not Disturb feature for the Amazon Echo speakers. To keep alerts such as calls, messages, and drop ins from bothering you, you can enable the feature as well as schedule it for a specific time frame.

Here’s how to enable Do Not Disturb for Alexa and Amazon Echo.

Access your Device Settings

Open up your Alexa app and then access your Amazon Echo settings with one of the two methods below.

1) Open the menu on the left side and tap Settings.

2) Select Device Settings.

3) Choose your device from the list.

OR

1) Tap Devices from the bottom navigation.

2) Select either Echo & Alexa or All Devices.

3) Choose your device from the list.

Enable Do Not Disturb mode

1) Scroll down to General and select Do Not Disturb.

2) Move the switch to turn on Do Not Disturb. Alexa and Amazon Echo will remain in this mode until you turn it off, unless you prefer to schedule the time.

If you would like to schedule the Do Not Disturb time, move the switch to turn on Schedule. Tap to enter the Start and End times.

3) Tap the arrow on the top left to return to the Device Settings screen or simply close the Alexa app.

If your Amazon Echo device has a screen, swipe down on it and select Do Not Disturb.
