Discover useful voice commands that you can use to play and control your favorite podcasts on your HomePod.

Podcasts on HomePod mini

The HomePod isn’t all about playing songs with Apple Music or setting multiple timers when you’re cooking dinner. If you enjoy podcasts, you can listen to them on your HomePod, too.

Choose a new show from the Apple Podcasts store, catch up on episodes you’ve missed for podcasts you subscribe to, and control the podcast playback easily with Siri. Here’s how to listen to podcasts on HomePod with Siri.

Play podcasts on HomePod

  • “Hey Siri, play my newest/recent podcasts.”
  • “Hey Siri, play the {podcast name} podcast.”
  • “Hey Siri, play the first/last episode of {podcast name} podcast.”

Important: The above voice commands may not work if you have changed the default music service on HomePod to something like YouTube Music. In this case, say the app name. Like, say: “Hey Siri, play my newest/recent podcasts on Apple Podcasts.”

Control podcast playback on HomePod

  • “Hey Siri, pause/resume/stop.”
  • “Hey Siri, go back/forward {amount of time like 30 seconds or 5 minutes}.”
  • “Hey Siri, play it faster/slower.”
  • “Hey Siri, turn up/down the volume.”

Additional podcast commands

  • “Hey Siri, what podcast is this?”
  • “Hey Siri, which podcast episode is this?”
  • “Hey Siri, subscribe to this podcast.”
  • “Hey Siri, subscribe to {podcast name} podcast.”

Sit back and laugh at your favorite comedy shows, or stay in the know with the latest from your preferred news podcasts. Listening to podcasts on your HomePod is just as easy and convenient as listening to your tunes.
