Yonks, Animar, AudioKit Synth One, and other apps to check out this weekend

Apps of the week

This week’s Apps of the Week roundup features a beautiful countdown app, Tamagotchi-like digital AR pets, and a free app for making music. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.

Yonks

Ever wondered how many days have passed since you were born or since you’ve been married? How many weeks are left until your next vacation starts or a project must be finished? Yonks wants to help you with that. It’s a day counter app for past and future events. Features include fully customizable counters, milestone alerts, notes, sortable lists and even pre-made counters for a variety of categories—popular movies, holidays and memorable sports events.

Animar

Have you ever wanted a Tamagotchi-like, AR digital pet? Animar might be just what you are looking for. It offers realistic 3D models, animations and voices, and you can choose from tigers, elephants, pandas and more. You take care of the animals—feed them realistic food and drinks—and play with them to boost their mood. You can even take funny photos and videos with the animals to share with your friends.

AudioKit Synth One

I’m a sucker for a good music production app, and AudioKit Synth One impresses in many ways. It was created by over 100 volunteers from around the world, and it’s completely free—that’s right, no ads or IAPs, and it’s even open source! Features include 300+ presets crafted by famous sound designers, hybrid poly synthesizer, vintage 16-step sequencer, and so much more.

Immortal Rogue

Immortal Rogue is a brutal, swipe-controlled action roguelike. You play as a vampire that wakes up every 100 years to feed. Who you choose to hunt directly impacts the future and changes the game world. Different timelines offer different enemies to defeat and unique items to discover. Feature include over 70 enemies, 30+ weapons and 30+ vampire abilities to unlock, and above all else, massive replayability.

Enter The Color

In Enter The Color, you play in a space-like world full of color and danger. Tap to jump over obstacles on your way, but be careful of what color you are on. Enter portals and teleport your stick-figure self to the matching color row, grab power ups and avoid obstacles. The gameplay is simple and unique, the visuals are dazzling and there are tons of players to unlock. What else could you ask for from a weekend runner?
