Apple seeds first iOS 12.1.3 beta, second macOS 10.14.3 and tvOS 12.1.2 betas to developers

Apple on Wednesday seeded the first iOS 12.1.3 beta to developers. The release comes just days after the company rolled out iOS 12.1.2, which included fixes for eSIM activation and cellular connectivity issues, as well as workarounds for a pair of Qualcomm patents.

It appears iOS 12.1.3 includes fixes/features that were slated for iOS 12.1.2. As a response to a ruling in China this month, which placed a preliminary sales ban on select iPhone models due to their violation of two Qualcomm software patents, Apple was forced to roll out 12.1.2 quickly with changes that circumvented the patents. Today’s 12.1.3 release is marked as beta 2, even though it’s technically the first.

Apple today also seeded the second betas of macOS 10.14.3 and tvOS 12.1.2. We have yet to see any user-facing changes in these betas, meaning they are likely standard bug-squashing/maintenance releases. As always, the new betas can be installed using each platform’s respective OTA mechanism.
