Apple Pay is continuing its slow expansion as it is officially now available in Germany, a country that counts 83 million people.
According to the official Apple Pay webpage in Germany, customers can now add their credit or debit card from a participating issuer to the Wallet app and use it to pay in stores, apps and on the web. Supported local banks include boon, comdirect, Edenred, Fidor Bank, Hanseatic Bank and Vim Pay. With American Express, Visa, Maestro, and MasterCard being partners, all major card networks are also available at launch.
Last month, German banks including HVB and Bunq emailed customers to announce their support for Apple Pay in the country.
With today’s expansion, Apple Pay is now available in the following countries:

Apple has been increasing efforts to bring its mobile payment solution to as many countries as possible following the service’s initial rollout in October 2014. The service should also launch in Belgium and Saudi Arabia this fall. As of last week, Apple customers can use Apple Pay to buy prescriptions and other items at the nation’s No.1 pharmacy, CVS.
