Apple’s been working on 15+ original TV shows for its upcoming video-streaming service, and today we’ve learned that the iPhone maker could order a drama series starring Richard Gere.
WME’s head of television and veteran dealmaker Rick Rosen has reveled this previously unknown information in an interview yesterday with Deadline.
Additionally, Rosen revealed that he had put together a drama series starring Richard Gere, which is nearing a series order at Apple.
No further information was provided about the project but we’ll make sure to keep you updated as soon as new information becomes available.
Aside from potentially starring in this mysterious project that Apple is thought to be ordering soon, Gere, 69, is set to play Max, a self-made American media baron in BBC’s upcoming drama “MotherFatherSon,” marking his first major TV role in almost three decades.
The eight-part series is currently shooting in London and will air on BBC Two in 2019.

In other TV news, iDownloadBlog reported today that Edward Burns has been cast in the lead role on Apple’s upcoming reboot of “Amazing Stories”, Steve Spielber’s 1980s sci-fi anthology series. Burns, 50, will play a government agent, named Bill Kaminski, and appear alongside Austin Stowell (“Bridge of Spies”) and Kerry Bishé (“Halt and Catch Fire”).

Deadline reported this morning that Apple has now hired English stage and film actor Tony Kebbell for the lead role in un untitled psychological thriller series produced by M. Night Shyamalan. He will also direct the first of the ten half-hour episodes Apple ordered in February.
