Pwn20wnd releases unc0ver V1.1.0 with the longest list of bug fixes to date

Sunday morning, renowned iOS hacker Pwn20wnd publicly released unc0ver V1.1.0 with a plethora of bug fixes and improvements.

Pwn20wnd first announced the new version of unc0ver via Twitter, and his Tweet also denotes how we’ll see an updated version of Rollectra in the near future.

Citing the official /r/jailbreak post, the new V1.1.0 release encompasses a lengthy list of changes, including the following:

  • Automatically selects the best exploit depending on the situation
  • A re-write for the versions checker
  • Improve unc0ver’s assertion
  • Improved error messages that display the code that failed
  • Improvements to memory management
  • Optimizations for the jailbreak tool’s code
  • Bug fixes for the storage settings
  • Switch to a new technique to disable automatic updates
  • Remove unnecessary logging
  • Improve the conditions for setting a boot nonce
  • Add log offsets
  • Remove static sleeps to improve the speed of the tool
  • Fixes for all known bugs to date

All unc0ver jailbreak users are advised to download the latest version of unc0ver from Pwn20wnd’s official GitHub repository at their earliest convenience. This is perhaps the most significant update to unc0ver since its conception; that said, it could potentially solve many of the problems you may have experienced in an earlier version of the jailbreak tool.

Unc0ver is a semi-untethered jailbreak just like Electra, which means you need to re-run the tool after every reboot. That aside, it encompasses a newer Saurik-approved version of the Cydia Store that runs better on iOS 11.

If you’ve never used unc0ver before, and plan to do so now, then you can follow our in-depth tutorial about how to install and run the unc0ver jailbreak.
