It was only yesterday that we saw the release of the unc0ver jailbreak tool for iOS 11.0-11.4 beta 3. But overnight, unc0ver received a plethora of updates encompassing bug fixes and improvements that may seem pertinent to users.
As of this writing, unc0ver RC6 (release candidate 6) is the latest release. That said, there’ve been at least five updates to the unc0ver jailbreak tool since its initial unveiling.
Citing the official /r/jailbreak page, unc0ver RC2, RC3, RC4, RC5, and RC6 brought with them the following changes:
- RC2: Add the dynastic repository by default and fix the unsupported error on some devices running the iOS 11.4 Beta.
- RC3: Add an option to restore the RootFS, don’t reset the preferences when switching from other jailbreaks and fix several errors.
- RC4: Add a label to display the uptime, remove the custom fonts as they are the same with the system fonts, enable logging again and include spawn in the PATH.
- RC5: Attempt to fix the videosubscriptionsd crashes, fix the Unsupported error and fix the Update Checker.
- RC6: Enable logging, improve the version checks, improve the memory management and fix the MP exploit.
The unc0ver jailbreak is open source, and so the developers responsible for it have made every attempt to make every version of the tool available for download.
