Overhauled NHL app brings more shows, Apple Watch support, no-spoiler feature & more

NHL for iPhone app - new features

Monday morning, NHL’s app for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV has been redesigned and updated with fresh new content and features, including Apple Watch support and a no-spoiler option.

Timed to coincide with the new season, NHL brings you more of the action with almost 50 percent more pre and post-game shows, along with intermission broadcasts.

These features were first reported today by Engadget.

Fans of hockey will appreciate not only greater selection of content available for streaming, but the completely overhauled Team Pages with a new pinned video player at the top of each article. The app now uses venue data from NHL’s separate Arena app so you can check out arena schedules, maps and amenities without switching apps.

A new spoiler-free option allows you to switch off all spoilers in notifications. And with NHL.TV now available for Apple Watch, fans of the Apple wearable device can view summaries, events and scoreboards from across the League on their wrist.

NHL.TV requires an annual subscription at $120, or $20 per month.

NHL for iOS is a free download from App Store with In-App Purchases.
