In addition to a new App Store for iMessages, the just-released iOS 10 update brings third-party app support to Siri. This means you can now instruct the digital assistant to do things like “show Dallas Cowboys tweets in Twitter” and “send money using Venmo.”
This obviously only works with apps that have been updated for iOS 10, and thus far only a handful of well-known titles have confirmed they’ve done so. But to help you get acquainted with the new feature, we’ve created a list of 10 apps that support Siri commands.
Linkedin – iOS 10 compatibility and new features include Siri integration for messaging.
Vogue Runway – search for fashion shows by designer using Siri.
Venmo – similar to Square Cash, Venmo’s iOS 10 app update allows you to use Siri (and iMessage) to send and receive payments.
WhatsApp – ask Siri to send WhatsApp messages or place WhatsApp calls. Example: “make a WhatsApp call to Henry” or “Send Tom a WhatsApp message.”
Zova – Zova is a popular fitness app and its iOS 10 update allows you to use Siri to start a workout, run, walk or stretch.
Lyft – Siri integration for passengers. Now getting a ride is as easy as saying, “Siri, get me a Lyft to the airport.”
Map My Run – new Siri functionality allows you to start/pause/finish your workouts through Siri.
Square Cash – with Square Cash’s iOS 10 update, you can now ask Siri to do things like “send $10 for tacos to Lauren with Cash” or “request $900 from Jake for rent with Cash.”
Discover Mobile – Cardmembers can now make credit card payments using Siri.
Uber – Ask Siri for a ride. Yep—It’s as simple as “Siri, get me an Uber.”
