The iTunes Music Festival, an annual 30-day event hosted and organized by Apple, is back this year in a bit changed form. Taking advantage of the buzz surrounding Apple Music, the event is now called Apple Music Festival and will run 10 consecutive nights at London’s Roundhouse, starting on September 19.

“Apple hosted the iTunes Festival in London for eight years, and now in honor of the launch of Apple Music, has renamed the event the Apple Music Festival,” explains the iPhone maker.

According to Apple, some of the headline acts include Pharrell Williams, One Direction, Florence + The Machine and Disclosure.

It’s still about music, right?

“Apple Music Festival is a full-volume celebration of music,” said the firm.

“It’s live from London and broadcast to every corner of the globe. This year, we return to London’s Roundhouse for 10 incredible nights.”

The even takes place at the Roundhouse, Chalk Farm Rd, London NW1 8EH.

Again, taking advantage of Apple Music and its Connect feature where artists can post multimedia content for their followers to enjoy, Apple said that backstage news and footage straight from the festival will be posted to artists’ pages on Apple Music Connect.

Of course, Beats 1 radio will cover the music festivities as well, for free.

“We wanted to do something really special for music fans this year,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services.

“The Apple Music Festival is a greatest hits set of ten unbelievable nights featuring some of the best performers on the planet appearing live and interacting directly with their fans on Connect and Beats 1.”

How to win tickets?

Because tickets are free, seats are limited and the ticket draw for Apple Music Festival is for UK residents only, the Apple Music Festival’s online ticket reservation system was down for many this morning.

UK residents can apply to win tickets on Apple Music as well as through media partners including the London Evening Standard. By comparison, in years past fans were able to enter drawings through the iTunes Festival app, but Apple has now opted to use the Music app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
