The Cube is a pico projector that will play nice with your iPhone

RIF6 Cube Pico Projector

Sure, the iPhone 6 screen is larger than any previous iPhone model screen, and sure, you can mirror it on your television set for an even bigger viewing experience. But how would you like to watch movies on a 120-inch screen in your backyard?

With the RIF6 Cube you can project your iPhone 6 onto a wall, ceiling, or even a tent in high resolution. Since it is only a two-inch square and has a rechargeable battery, you can even take it with you camping.

The Cube is a pico projector that comes with its own internal speaker, Micro SD card reader, and HDMI input so you can connect it to your iPhone 6. Of course, to connect your iPhone, you will need a Lightning Digital AV Adapter, which will cost you an additional $49. But, if you are willing to invest in the Cube, you probably don’t mind dropping the extra bucks for the adapter.

The projector features LED digital based lighting with a lifespan of 20,000 hours of 50-Lumen playback. It uses DLP BrilliantColor technology for richer and more natural colors. With the Micro HDMI connection, this tiny box can project images at 854 x 480 up to 120 inches.

Because it has an internal speaker and SD Card reader, you don’t even need an iPhone 6 to project audio and video through the Cube. All you need is an SD card with content on it.

The rechargeable internal battery lasts for 90 minutes of continuous playback, which isn’t much when you are out in the woods for a weekend, but is pretty impressive when you consider the technology inside. You can also connect it to a wall plug if you are near a traditional power source.

The RIF6 Cube costs a pretty penny at $259, but as pico projectors go, it is right in line, price wise. Of course, this mini beast isn’t for everyone. It is meant for those technophiles out there that really want to make their mobile life something special. You can pick one up on Amazon. Don’t forget to grab an AV adapter if you don’t already have one.
