Thursday, Microsoft Studios unleashed a pair of new triple-A games for the iPhone and iPad unto the App Store. Both Halo: Spartan Strike and Halo: Spartan Assault pit you against an insurmountable Covenant force and are now available at $5.99 each.
Spartan Strike files as a top-down shooter which makes you a Spartan supersoldier tasked with battling evil forces.
Spartan Assault is the original Halo top-down shooter that plays through the historic first missions of the Spartan Ops program featured in Halo 4 as Commander Palmer.
Graphics-wise, both games look splendid and with thirty action-packed levels and a brand new Halo story set just before the events of Halo 4 you’re looking at some serious fun.
Spartan Assault puts you in command of many of the favorite Halo weapons, vehicles and armor abilities while customizing your Spartan to your liking.
In Spartan Strike, you’ll face off against Promethean enemies crushing them using the Warthog or sweeping them from the battlefield using the all-new Kestrel VTOL.
The Strike games features an all-new story that will take you from New Mombasa on Earth to the enigmatic Gamma Halo located at the edge of charted space. According to Microsoft, the story in Spartan Strike is set during the events of Halo 2 on New Mombasa in 2552.
“As a Spartan supersoldier in a classified ONI simulation, delve into 30 challenging missions while leading UNSC troops through cities and jungles with an all new arsenal of weapons, abilities and vehicles,” reads the blurb.
