When you combine a super genre mashup of 2D physics destruction with a castle defense brawler, the result is CastleStorm – Free to Siege. The action game is based off the critically acclaimed console version of the same name, featuring four campaigns and over 150 battles across four different nations: Kingdom, Norse, Royal Guard and Viking Elites. CastleStorm is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
Updated Apps
The popular, cross-platform note-taking app Evernote was updated just hours ago with business card scanning improvements, including a no-tap camera mode with automatic detection. The app also works better with LinkedIn, allowing users to send connection requests to those with a business card they have scanned. Numerous performance improvements and bug fixes were also made, bringing the app to version 7.3.4. Evernote is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
DrinkAdvisor is an all-in-one nightlife app that makes it quick and easy to discover information about bars and night clubs in 130 of the biggest cities in the world. The app was recently updated with a brand new design and several other changes. The app features real user reviews, built-in mapping, interesting facts about popular drinks and cocktails, detailed cocktail recipes and more. DrinkAdvisor is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
Despicable Me: Minion Rush has been updated with an all-new Super Silly Fun Land. The amusement park environment has fun attractions inspired by Despicable Me. There is also a new exclusive villain, the Villaintriloquist, and his evil puppet. Other new features include a potion to become a fast-running Evil Minion, new costumes, new secret area and general bug fixes and optimizations. The app now visits at version 1.8.0. Despicable Me: Minion Rush is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
On Sale Apps
Tydlig reinvents what a calculator should look and function like on mobile devices, featuring freeform canvas, responsive results, linked numbers and more. The app was discounted today from $4.99 to $1.99 for a limited time. Other features include real-time graphing, undo support, spreadsheet-style annotations, offline support, external Bluetooth keyboard compatibility, over 20 mathematical functions and more. Tydlig is $1.99 on the App Store for iPhone and iPad during the sale.
Atomic Frogs is now free for a limited time, discounted from its regular price of 99 cents. The game has received positive reviews from several blogs, and is based on a frog army that has acquired explosive abilities through a radioactive pool. A troop of evil robots has stolen this water supply, however, and the frogs must get it back through a series of challenging levels. Atomic Frogs is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
Splashtop 2 Remote Desktop is on sale for 99 cents as a Mother’s Day special, down from its regular price of $4.99. It is claimed to be the number one remote desktop app for the iPad, boasting over 16 million users. It allows fast access to your Mac or PC from an iPad, featuring compatibility with the full Microsoft Office suite, desktop browsers, video and music libraries and more. Splashtop 2 Remote Desktop is 99 cents on the App Store for iPad during the sale, which ends soon.
