Apple’s digital content stores affiliate program now available in more countries

Apple Affiliate Program (teaser 002)

Apple’s long-running affiliate program enables website owners to earn a commission by using affiliate links to digital items sold on Apple’s many content stores. For example, we’re using iTunes affiliate linking here on iDB as a revenue generating mechanism and many other bloggers and website owners do so.

If you’re a member of Apple’s Affiliate Program, pay attention as the company has announced today a new partner to help expand participation to new countries…

MacRumors points us to a blog post by Apple announcing that the streamlined program now offers two affiliate networks instead of four separate affiliate networks to provide coverage for a number of countries. The program is available for iTunes, App Store, iBooks Store and Mac App Store content.

Previously, LinkShare did United States, Canada and Mexico, Tradedoubler was responsible for affiliate linking in Europe and Brazil, LinkShare covered Japan and dgm was responsible for Australia and New Zealand.

Under the changed terms, Tradedoubler will cover Europe and South America and Performance Horizon Group will do United States, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Turkey, and many countries in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

We’re introducing a new affiliate platform partner, PHG, which will support the Affiliate Program’s expansion to more countries and provide improved reporting tools.

If you are currently participating in the Affiliate Program in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Australia, or New Zealand, you will now be supported by this new platform.

Apple advises program members to set up a new affiliate account and update their existing links by October 1, 2013 in order to continue earning commissions without interruption.

You can apply to join the program or learn more in this FAQ.
