Since Apple unveiled the first iPad back in January of 2010, it has completely dominated the tablet space. In just two years, the company has sold more than 50 million slates, garnering more than 60% of the market.

Even though the above facts paint a grim picture of Apple, it’s worth noting that the company is putting a lot of effort into minimizing its carbon footprint. For example, it’s currently building one of America’s largest solar farms to power its North Carolina data center.

It’ll be interesting to see how much these numbers improve in the next 5-10 years, and if other companies follow suit.
