Closer Look at Skype for iPad, Drops Tuesday

Yesterday, we told you about the promo video that leaked detailing the upcoming Skype for iPad app. It was later confirmed by Skype that the video was real, and that Skype's official app for the iPad will be available in the App Store next week.

Another Apple Patent Hints at a Future Apple TV Set

It seems like the Daily Tech report that we covered a few days ago has sparked quite a flurry of Apple TV speculation. Though no one can agree on exactly when we'll see a TV set from the Cupertino company, most folks concur it's in the works.

One must wonder though, what could Apple be cooking up for their first entry into the TV market? Patently Apple just discovered this filing from Cupertino company, that may just give us some insight on that very question...

New in iOS 5: Restoring From iCloud Backup Shown on Video [Tutorial]

One of the most beneficial features of the new iOS 5 is the ability to restore directly from iCloud backup via Wi-Fi.

Upgrading from iOS 5 beta 1 to iOS 5 beta 2 was a painless process thanks to the amazing restoral from iCloud backup. It literally only took a few taps before all of my settings and apps were restored like they were prior to upgrade.

New in iOS 5: Wi-Fi Sync Demonstrated on Video [Tutorial]

Folks, are you excited? We surely are, because we just got our hands on iOS 5 beta 2, and we've been able to go hands on with Wi-Fi sync.

Let me tell you, it works gloriously. I know this is sort of an overused mantra, especially in the Apple space, but it just works.

Anyone who's familiar with the jailbreak implementations of wireless syncing will be right at home with Apple's iteration of Wi-Fi syncing, and unsurprisingly, it's even simpler with Apple at the helm.

Jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 2 with RedSn0w

Apple just dropped iOS 5 Beta 2, and, of course, one of the first questions that comes to mind is: can we jailbreak it?

The answer came from Dev Team frontman MuscleNerd who confirmed that it is still possible to jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 2 using the latest version of RedSn0w, the same that was released a couple weeks ago to jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 1...

iOS 5 Beta 2 Now Live [Updated]

Apple has just released the second beta for iOS 5. Beta 2 is now available for download in Apple's developer channel.

iOS 5 Beta is a 740MB download and available for all Apple devices from the 3rd gen iPod touch and up.

Skype App Finally Coming to the iPad? Check Out this Mysterious Promo Video

Remember when Skype finally enabled video calling for the iPhone late last year? The iPhone 4 debuted with FaceTime in the summer and it was nearly 6 months before we saw Skype add video calling to its iOS application.

Fast forward to March of this year, and Apple launched the iPad 2 with a front facing camera and FaceTime support. Since then, everyone has wondered if Skype would port its video calling application to the popular tablet.

Well, we are about at the 6 month mark since Apple released its second tablet, and it just so happens that a mysterious Skype promo video is making its way around the internet...

Apple Confirms iCloud Will Have Web Apps

Apple has published a transition Q&A that outlines how MobileMe's services will be dissolved and transitioned into iCloud offerings. As of June 30, 2012, MobileMe will cease to exist, and Gallery, iWeb and iDisk will be discontinued.

Among other details, Apple has confirmed that iCloud will in fact offer web apps for Mail, Contacts, Calendar and Find My iPhone.

iPhone 5 Rumor Mill [Infographic]

The iPhone receives its fair share of rumors on a daily basis. It can be difficult to make sense of all the conflicting reports and claims that fly around the internet, so sometimes we need a way to get a 10,000 foot view of all the stories out there.

Existing Customers Will Be Able to Keep Unlimited Data Plans on Verizon

We recently told you about the nation's second largest carrier dropping its unlimited data plan for a tiered structure similar to that of AT&T. More details have surfaced, and the good news is that existing customers will be able to keep their coveted $29.99 unlimited data plans with an ongoing Verizon contract.

Like AT&T, Verizon will be grandfathering in existing customers for continued use of the unlimited data plan.

The iPhone is Not the Underdog

In our second installment of the, "What are they putting in the water at PCMag?" series, we take a look at an article titled, "Is the iPhone Now the Underdog?" by PCMag's Editor-in-Chief, Lance Ulanoff.
