Dock 2.0 Gives You One Touch Access to All of Your Apps

If someone were to ask you why they should jailbreak their iPhone, what would you say? For me, the list of reasons could go on for days. The themes, the tweaks, it seems like there are a million ways to customize your iPhone once it’s been set free. These tweaks can remove Apple’s limitations on things like the amount of sprin gboard pages you can have, or the amount of icons allowed in each folder.

The coolest hacks, in my opinion, are the ones that make multi-step processes on your iPhone less complicated. Don’t get me wrong, iOS is so simple a 2 year old could use it. But there are apps like SBSettings that will give you home screen access to settings for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Dock 2.0 also falls in this category, as it makes browsing multiple pages for applications a thing of the past

If you’ve ever dreamed of the perfect dock for your iPhone, pay attention. I’m not talking about a speaker dock, I’m talking about that thing across the bottom of your iPhone’s screen that is supposed to only have 4 icons in it. ScrollingBoard has always been one of my favorite dock hacks, but Dock 2.0 could give it a run for its money.

The idea is simple. Dock 2.0 gives you access to a customizable dock from virtually any screen or app on your iDevice. It is generally hidden, but can be activated in a number of customizable ways.

You can set the dock to show up with a swipe to the sides of your screen, or a short hold of the status bar or home button.

(I apologize for the poor screen shots. The app appears to be camera shy. The dock actually collapses anytime a screen shot is attempted.)

Once activated, the custom dock is gorgeous. Scrolling through your apps is a breeze and the animations are extremely fluid. This is light years ahead of some of the older versions of Dock, Stacks, and other quick launch apps in Cydia.

Not only can you have shortcuts to all your favorite apps in the dock, you can even put shortcuts to your most used folders. When a folder icon is selected, a pop up menu appears with a list of all the apps it contains. The entire interface is extremely intuitive.

The settings for this app really allow you to customize it to your liking, not to mention, Dock 2.0 is completely skinnable. If you have been looking for a way to launch your apps quickly without having to scroll through multiple screens, Dock 2.0 might be your best bet.

Dock 2.0 can truly make you a master of multitasking and completely change the way you use your iPhone. The tweak is available in Cydia for a free 3 day trial period. If you like it, you can purchase the full license from the developers website for $4.99.

Have you used Dock 2.0 yet? How about something similar?
