How to Prepare Your iPhone for Unlock with PwnageTool

The Dev Team just released an update to their UltraSn0w unlock. Unfortunately, this time it's not as easy as downloading and installing UltraSn0w to unlock the iPhone.

If your iPhone is on baseband 01.59.00, 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, or 05.13.04, then you can simply go to Cydia and download UltraSn0w. If you are on a different baseband, you will first have to update your baseband to 06.15.00, which is unlockable.

All this sounds a little confusing? Yes, it's normal. It's very confusing, so I highly suggest you read this before going forward with the unlock process. It will tell you what you can and cannot do, depending on your configuration...

UltraSn0w iPhone Unlock for iOS 4.2.1 is Available

Not even a week after iOS 4.2.1 was released, and following the update of the RedSn0w jailbreak, the Dev Team delivered today an update to their UltraSn0w unlock for iOS 4.2.1.

This unlock will work for the iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS with baseband 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, or 05.13.04. It will also work with iPhone 4 with baseband 01.59.00...

The rumor mill began with some words from John Gruber about Rupert Murdoch's new, mobile-centric newspaper called "The Daily." Apparently, Murdoch has been forming a mobile-specific news publication under the umbrella of News Corp. This new publication is rumored to deliver news through a subscription system in Apple's App Store...

UltraSn0w Unlock Working Fully on iPhone 4.2.1

A couple days ago we informed you that the UltraSn0w unlock for iPhone iOS 4.2.1 was supposedly going to drop this Sunday. According to a recent tweet from Dev Team member MuscleNerd, it seems we are on the right track for a release on schedule.

This UltraSn0w unlock for iOS 4.2.1 will work with the iPhone 3G and 3GS. It will not work with the iPhone 4 yet, but it's being worked on...

I think the majority of people are in agreement that one of the key features that the iPhone has lacked over the years, and continues to lack, is a competent notification system.

Sure we have push notifications, but those can be incredibly disrupting and intrusive. Then there's the app icon badges, which serve their purpose, but can quickly litter your homescreen with a mess of little red icons.
