3GS Supplies Tighten, iPhone 4 Discounted Ahead of iPhone 5 Announcement

We know, iPhone 5 rumors have gotten way out of hand. It seems like we are hearing 2 or 3 a day now. Aside from being annoying, the increased chatter is also a sign that we are getting close to an Apple announcement.

In fact, we are seeing a few indications that the iPhone 5 is nearing launch time. Multiple purported cases for the device have been surfacing, and now there are several reports claiming that previous models of the iPhone are being discounted and maybe even discontinued...

Hilarious Target Ad “Leaks” the iPhone 5

We're not sure whether the iPhone featured in this Target ad is the work of a smart jokester in the retailer's art department, or whether someone has inadvertently leaked an image of the iPhone 5, but either way, this is interesting — especially because it seems to tie in with those iPhone 5 case designs we published earlier.

As you can see from the picture above, the iPhone in this image shares some resemblance with the iPhone 4, however, in some ways it's different. Most notably because of those curved edges and curved back, which seems to taper towards the bottom.

Target is Going to Sell iPhones

"At Target we continue to offer our guests the best in electronics, so we’re happy to add iPhone to our Target Mobile offerings." The senior VP of Target merchandising has confirmed that Target is slated to be the next retail chain to sell iPhones.

The iPhone 4 and 3GS will be available at all Target locations for walk-in purchases on November 7. Target has now joined the ranks of Walmart and Best Buy as a major retail partner for iPhone. Target has also promised to have in-store activations for AT&T...

I'll warn you ahead of time, this is a ridiculous piece of news. The folks over at Target have come up with a plan that will allow you to trade in your iPhone or iPod Touch to receive your very own gift card with the amount you're granted in return.
