Unseen video shows ‘softer side’ of Steve Jobs

It is no secret that Apple executives aren't thrilled by existing and upcoming Steve Jobs movies. The latest example: Steve's widow Lauren Powell Jobs apparently “tried to kill” the upcoming Hollywood biopic by Sony Pictures (according to the Wall Street Journal, she tried to cease production on the Aaron Sorkin script multiple times).

Coincidentally or not, ABC News has now exclusively obtained never-before-seen footage of Apple's mercurial founder, who can be seen addressing Apple executives the day before the release of the original iPhone in 2007.

Tim Cook issues email to troops commemorating fourth anniversary of Steve Jobs’s death

Steve Jobs succumbed to cancer and died of respiratory arrest on this day four years ago. To commemorate the fourth anniversary of his tragic passing, current CEO Tim Cook, whom Jobs suggested as his successor to the Board of Directors, issued a company-wide email to employees.

The message, a copy of which was obtained by The Telegraph, praises Jobs as a visionary leader, a mentor and “a dear friend.”

The internal message wraps up by suggesting that employees honor Steve by “continuing the work he started, and for remembering both who he was and what he stood for.”

A new movie about Apple's legendary co-founder, titled 'Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine,' is scheduled to open in select theaters in less than two weeks and Mashable today released the first official trailer which provides an early look into the forthcoming documentary.

In addition to exploring the impact of Steve Jobs’ work on the society and our embrace of computers and technology, the 120-minute nonfictional documentary plays off the controversies that had surrounded Jobs' persona for many years.

Directed by Alex Gibney, it apparently paints the picture of a “bold, brilliant and brutal” Steve Jobs, the description which did not sit well with Apple's Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue, who called it “an inaccurate and mean-spirited view of my friend” and ”not a reflection of the Steve I knew.”
