How to regain your iOS device’s stock Home screen layout

With so many tweaks available that allow you to rearrange your Home screen in various ways, it's almost inevitable that you end up with a Home screen that looks nothing like the original Home screen that you started with.

Fortunately there's a really easy way to reset your app icon layout on your Home screen.

A good lot of you are probably already aware that such an option exists, but it's a nice reminder since recent tweaks like Dashboard X can result in drastically altered Home screens that can be time consuming to rearrange by hand.

Take a look at our video walkthrough for more information...

This new tweak gives you a dedicated page for widgets

HomeSpringPage is a new jailbreak tweak that will allow you to add an empty first page to your Home screen. This is great, because it allows you to have dedicated real estate for adding Dashboard X widgets.

If you're a Dashboard X user, HomeSpringPage is a natural fit to accomodate your needs for space. Take a look at our full video walkthrough inside for the proof...

Springround — the jailbreak tweak that allows you to access your SpringBoard icons from anywhere — is now live on Cydia.

We've already previewed this tweak, and we were pretty satisfied with the results. It's awesome to be able to load up your app icons while within another app, and as one viewer described it, it's like "reverse multitasking".

Check out our video demonstration of Springround, and if you're satisfied with what you see, head over to Cydia's BigBoss repo where you can download it for $0.99.

Access your SpringBoard from anywhere using ‘Springround’

Springround is an upcoming jailbreak tweak that will allow you to access your iPhone's Home screen app icons from anywhere.

In order to accomplish this feat, the developers of Springround employed the trusty Activator, which allows it to be invoked inside any app.

Springround is the perfect mix of function and simplicity as you'll see from our hands-on video inside...

‘BadgeRemover’ will clear every badge on your SpringBoard

If you're looking for a way to remove your app notification badges in one fell swoop, there are many options to do so. Just search for "badges" in Cydia, and you're bound to come up with a few options for suppressing those annoying badges.

And then there are tweaks like Springtomize 2, which removes badges, along with about a million other functions.

But if you just want a tweak that will silence your app badges, and nothing else, then there's a new option called BadgeRemover...

Upcoming jailbreak tweak ‘Deck’ adds a hotbar to your SpringBoard

Deck is an upcoming jailbreak tweak from SBCoders that is currently in beta testing. It promises to lend added functionality to your SpringBoard by adding an App switcher-esque side bar that's accessible by swiping.

Inside the "hotbar" you'll gain access to a multitude of customizable functions, and shortcuts. It looks like a great compliment to the currently existing App switcher.

SBCoders has released a teaser video that shows Deck in action, check inside to have a look...

‘Graviboard’ updated with iOS 5 support

Graviboard is one of the most famous jailbreak tweaks of all time, so I was shocked that we had never covered it on video before.

Today, the legendary tweak was updated with iOS 5 support. What better way to celebrate than to give it a thorough video walkthrough?

‘Springtomize 2’ Updated with Native iPad Support

Springtomize 2 — the ridiculously in-depth Springboard tweak package — was updated today to include native iPad support among other things.

This means that you can now run it in full screen mode without having to enable the iPad's 2x mode for iPhone apps.

It also means that it gains a few new iPad centric features along the way. Check out our video walkthrough of the new Springtomize 2 in action...

HomePlayer: A Fully Focused Audio Interface for the Music App

HomePlayer is a jailbreak tweak that brings a fully focused audio experience to your SpringBoard. It interfaces directly with the Music app to bring a full screen music playing session to the Home Screen.

When I say "fully focused" I truly mean it, as the app completely disables the Home button's functionality to prevent users from exiting the interface.

It's an interesting concept, although it can be a bit buggy at times. In the end it's an obvious 1.0 tweak that can go as far as its developers decide to take it...

SpringPod: Add Individual Music Controls to Your Springboard

Adding individual music controls to your Home screen in the form of app icons is nothing new in the world of jailbreaking. But SpringPod brings a slightly different approach, and few more customization options to the table than previous tweaks.

Along with play/pause controls, SpringPod brings previous, next, rewind, fast forward, and volume functions directly to your iPhone's Springboard. But is it worth the $0.99 asking price?
