Gevey SIM Unlocks iPhone 4 on iOS 4.3.4

The Gevey SIM supports an unlock for the iPhone 4 on Apple's latest firmware, iOS 4.3.4. Apple recently pushed the 4.3.4 update to combat the exploit uncovered by the jailbreak tool, JailbreakMe, in iOS 4.3.3.

If you upgrade to iOS 4.3.4, you lose your untethered jailbreak. But the Gevey SIM still works...

T-Mobile Now Selling Micro SIM Cards for iPhone 4

Rumors are that Apple will come out with an iPhone capable of running on T-Mobile's 3G/4G network, and today T-Mobile took the first steps in the Apple/T-Mobile partnership. T-Mobile is now giving free Micro SIM cards to its customers.

This news comes after T-Mobile announced they have over one million unlocked iPhones on their network. It has been over a month since Apple started selling unlocked iPhone 4s in the US that work on T-Mobile's EDGE network.

New Dual SIM Case Adds a Second Line to Your iPhone 4

You might recall that earlier this year, there was a rumor going around that the next iPhone would feature dual SIM card slots. This would allow users to connect multiple phone lines to the device, eliminating the need to carry multiple phones.

While we haven't heard any follow-up information suggesting Apple's next smartphone will sport the dual SIM option, we have seen several accessory makers offer the feature for the current line of iPhones. The latest product we've seen surface, just like the Rebel 2Phone, adds a second SIM tray to your iPhone 4 via a removable case...

Unlock iPhone 4 on iOS 5 Beta 2 Using Gevey SIM

The Gevey SIM is an interposer tool that has been legally questionable by many. You might use a Gevey SIM to unlock your iPhone 4 and might have noticed that Apple has blocked the exploit in iOS 5 Beta 2.

Fortunately. the folks over at RedmondPie found a workaround to getting the Gevey SIM to work on iOS 5 Beta 2. In this method, we will show you how to unlock your iPhone 4 running iOS 5 beta 2 with a Gevey SIM...

Gevey SIM Blocked on iOS Beta 2

The Gevey SIM allows you to unlock your iPhone without the need of a jailbreak. The SIM card force activates the iPhone's baseband by exploiting the emergency dialer function.

Apple released iOS 5 Beta 2 last night, and it appears that the Gevey SIM is now blocked from working in this second iOS build. It's suspected that Gevey will try to battle Apple's patching of its interposer while iOS 5 is still in the beta testing stages.

Gevey SIM Will Unlock iPhone 4 on iOS 5

Following the news that RedSn0w will jailbreak iOS 5, an unlock solution for the iPhone 4 on iOS 5 has also been uncovered. The Gevey SIM is a TurboSIM-like piggy back SIM card that will unlock iPhone 4 basebands.

On iOS 5, it appears that the Gevey SIM will still unlock the iPhone 4. Be warned: the Gevey SIM is technically illegal, so we do not recommend this method for unlocking the iPhone 4 on iOS 5.

Rumor: iPhone 4S This Summer With A5 Chip, 8MP Camera, GSM/CDMA Support, Integrated SIM

With WWDC right around the corner, the last, pre-summer iPhone rumors are coming in fast and strong. The latest one seems a little far fetched, but it does make some interesting claims about hardware announcements we'll see from Apple this year.

Instead of an iPhone release this fall, Macotakara claims that the 'iPhone 4S' will be released this summer, and that the iPhone 5 will be released in spring of 2012. The iPhone 4S will supposedly be a minor upgrade from the iPhone 4 (like the 3G/3GS), while the iPhone 5 will be a complete revamp. Sound crazy to you?

France Telecom CEO Hints at “Smaller and Thinner” iPhone with Smaller SIM Card

In a recent interview, the CEO of French Telecom/Orange, Stephane Richard, dropped some hits towards a "smaller and thinner" iPhone 5 with a different SIM card design. Instead of the traditional method, Apple has apparently agreed with wireless carriers to support a smaller and more lightweight SIM for the next iPhone.

Practically, this smaller SIM card would make the iPhone thinner. There is also the possibility that such a SIM card could work in tandem with the rumored 'global device' that Apple could release this year.

Apple Thinks Smaller is Better. We’re Talking SIM Cards of Course…

When Apple launched the first iPad a little over a year ago, it introduced a fairly new SIM format called Micro SIM. A few months later, those Micro SIMs were also implemented in the iPhone 4. Smaller in size compared to the standard Mini SIMs, Micro SIMs do the exact same job while using less space.

Always on the fore front of tech pioneering, Apple is now submitting a new requirement to the European Telecoms Standards Body (ETSB) for the use of even smaller SIM cards in cell phones and mobile devices...

2Phone Case Gives Your iPhone Dual Sim Cards

Dual-SIM adapters have been available for the iPhone for a while. It's even speculated that we could see dual-SIM technology show up in the iPhone 5. If none of the current offerings for dual-SIM adapters appeal to you, you might want to see what Rebel Simcard has cooked up.

The Rebel 2Phone case for the iPhone 4 will give your device the ability to make and receive phone calls on 2 different lines, or 2 different carriers. The coolest part is that both SIMs are active at the same time, meaning you can make calls on both lines simultaneously...

MuscleNerd Confirms the Gevey SIM iPhone 4 Unlock is Illegal

We recently told you about the Gevey SIM interposer, a TurboSIM-like piggy back sim card that allows you to unlock any iPhone 4. When we first wrote about it, we raised concerns about the legality of this method, and warned you that your carrier might not like you using this.
