Apple Offering Faster Holiday Shipping For Free Through December 22

We recently told you about Apple's free shipping holiday promotion for its online store. Any order placed through December 22nd will be shipped for free, including orders that are under $50.

Apple has added another perk to its promotion by offering 2-3 business day delivery for free. This means that online orders will be shipped much faster throughout the holidays.

The Difference Between “Shipped” and “Sold”

There's a headline bouncing around the tech blogs this morning that goes something like this: "Samsung Overtakes Apple to Become Top Smartphone Manufacturer." The news comes in wake of Samsung's earnings report it issued to investors this morning.

The Korean handset maker didn't offer any specific numbers, but it did tell shareholders its smartphone shipments were up 40% this quarter. Some analysts are estimating that the increase equals 28 million smartphones, which clearly beats Apple's 17 million, right?

How to Accurately Track Your iPhone 4S When Apple’s Order Page Says “Preparing for Shipment”

Needless to say, the last few days have been both frustrating and exciting. Exciting because I was among the first to order my iPhone 4S on Friday morning; frustrating because Apple's order status page still reads "Preparing for Shipment".

This wouldn't be so annoying if it weren't for the fact that most of the iDB staff received shipment notifications a while ago.

I know, first world problems indeed, but a problem it was. Thankfully, there's a quick and easy way to gather accurate results about the whereabouts of your new iPhone 4S. I show you how in this video tutorial...

iPhone 4S Pre-Orders Start Shipping to Customers

Apple has started sending shipping notifications to customers that pre-ordered the iPhone 4S last Friday. Some orders still say "preparing for shipment," but most customers have noticed that the iPhone 4S has been shipped with a delivery date of October 14th.

Pre-orders are coordinated with UPS in the US to ensure that shipments don't arrive before the confirmed delivery date, so don't get your hopes up for an early iPhone 4S delivery to your doorstep...

International iPhone 4S Shipping Estimates Already Pushed Back 1-2 Weeks

While iPhone 4S pre-orders in the US seem to be working just fine, international demand for the 4S has caused Apple to push back the shipping estimate for the 4S to 1-2 weeks. Instead of the assured delivery date on October 14th that Apple originally promised, shipping estimates for the 4S have slipped to a more uncertain delivery date for international customers.

Apple stores in countries like Canada, the UK, France, Germany, and Australia have all had shipping dates pushed back already. The iPhone 4S became available for pre-order after 12AM this morning...

iPhone 4 Shipping Times Extended to 1-3 Days, Product Refresh Imminent [Updated]

Apple has extended shipping estimates for nearly all of its products on its online store, including the iPhone 4. Many of Apple's products would usually ship within 24 hours, but estimates have been moved to a longer timeframe across the board.

The changes are visible in the US and European Apple stores, though shipping estimate changes were initially discovered in the European channel last night...

Apple to Sell More Phones than Anyone Else in 2011

Today, Digitimes published a forecast reporting that Apple will sell a staggering 86.4 million iPhones in 2011, blowing past Nokia to become the world's leading smartphone vendor. Apple is slated to see a 82% increase in shipments from the 47.5 million units shipped in 2010.

It was recently announced that Apple had already overtaken Nokia globally in terms of units manufactured, and Apple is also projected to overtake the Finnish juggernaut in shipment volume by year's end...

iPad 2 Now Ships Within 24 Hours

For the first time since its launch in the US, the iPad 2 is now shipping within 24 hours. Soon after its official release in the US, the iPad wouldn't ship under 2 weeks. It got slightly better over time, and shipping time finally got cut to 1-3 days a couple weeks ago.

With the rumor of an iPad 3 floating around, it might be a wise thing to hold on to your iPad at this time. The iPad 3 might very well be better as a more expensive "pro" version, but if I were you, I'd wait to see what Apple is up to...

iPad 2 Now Shipping from Apple in 3-5 Business Days

Since the iPad 2's launch in March, Apple has been facing extreme supply shortages from its manufacturers overseas. The iPad 2 has been flying off the shelves faster than the production line can handle, and part of this problem is due to the recent earthquake disaster in Japan.

For the past couple months, shipping dates for the iPad 2 on Apple's online store were set at 1-2 weeks. Despite the iPad 2's continual high consumer demand, Apple has managed to start shipping the sensational tablet in the normal 3-5 business day timeframe...

iPhone 4 Now Shipping Within 24 Hours

Kids these days. Back in my day, we were fortunate if we got one hot meal a day. Back in my day we had to walk 12 miles to school, in the snow, with no shoes! Back in my day we had to wait a whole month for an iPhone 4!

Well, well, well, what do we have here? It only took a hair over 5 months, but the iPhone 4 has now officially caught up with demand. In fact, if you wanted one today, Apple says they can have one shipped out to you within 24 hours. Now fess up. Who here still hasn't ordered their iPhone 4?

Get an iPhone 4 in Less Than a Week

It’s funny. I had literally just checked Apple’s website yesterday to see if the shipping times for the iPhone 4 had improved any, and it was still on the 2-3 weeks schedule. Now I check today, and what do you know? Shipping is now an estimated 5-7 business days. Is supply finally catching up with demand? More importantly, does this bode well for the white iPhone 4?
