Thursday, Apple seeded the first beta of the upcoming OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 software update to its Mac developers, as first reported by MacRumors. Registered Mac developers can grab the installer manually through Apple's portal for developers, or automatically, using the OS X Software Update Seed Configuration Utility.

Apple on Thursday morning released a new version of iTunes, bringing the media manager to version 12.1.2. The update is a minor one, but important for those who have updated their Macs to the new OS X 10.10.3 software that was seeded yesterday.

Associated Press, which ran a review of Photos for Mac earlier this morning and first reported that the software update is due today, praised the software's professional-level and advanced fine-tuning tools such as granular color correction.
“Apple’s new Photos app for Mac computers, available Wednesday as a free software update, makes it easy to organize and edit your pictures,” the news organization wrote.
Apple seeded the fifth beta of OS X 10.10.3 on Monday, available to download for registered developers and public AppleSeed beta testers. The beta, carrying build number 14D113c, is available to download via the Updates tab of the Mac App Store or from the Mac Developer Center.

The release comes less than a week after the previous OS X 10.10.3 beta, and it appears that it is nearly identically to its predecessor, save for a fix for a problem that prevented beta 3 from working with the 2015 Retina MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.
Along with a new iOS beta, Apple has seeded OS X 10.10.3 build 14D98 to developers on Tuesday. Developers can download the beta from the Software Update tool within the Mac App Store to check out the new software.
Apple on Thursday began sending out emails to Aperture users, reminding them that the software has been discontinued. When the new Photos app for OS X launches this spring, Aperture will be removed from the Mac App Store.
Users will still be able to use the popular photo editor in OS X Yosemite, but when the removal occurs, you will no longer be able to buy additional copies. Apple also notes that Aperture libraries can by migrated into Photos OS X.
