Apple introduces new ‘Catalogs’ category to App Store

Apple has just introduced a new category labeled ‘Catalogs’ to the App Store this evening. The new introduction is ahead of Apple’s media event tomorrow, where the Cupertino-based company is rumored to announce the iPad 3 and third-generation Apple TV.

The new category has yet to fully roll out to the App Store. Currently, it has apps like Catalog SpreeMTG Merchant, and SkyMall listed under it, but shows no results when viewing the category page. This year, the MLB is doing things a bit different with the way its viewers can watch games on their mobile devices. Today, the new MLB At Bat 2012 app hit the App Store, available on both the iPhone and iPad, Fox News notes. In previous years, the cost was $15 for each app — which totaled $30 for a viewer who wanted the experience on both the iPhone and iPad.

Vimeo releases iOS app update, featuring full screen video playback on iPad

Vimeo is a popular alternative to YouTube for sharing videos. Vimeo is known for hosting higher quality pieces and short films, thanks to its pro accounts. The service previously had just an iPhone app, but today has updated its app to version 2.0, bringing support for the iPad.

The iPad UI lets you navigate through Vimeo’s functionality natively and also lets you play video full screen. As you can see, it looks very high quality.

Saturday night, Adobe launched its new Photoshop Touch for iPad app into the App Store in Australia , New Zealand and more, but quickly pulled the app shortly after. We assume someone pulled the trigger a little early.

As pointed out by 9to5mac, Adobe has just released its new Adobe Photoshop Touch for iPad app to the iTunes App Store. The new app will allow you to make basic adjustments to your photos.

If you’re familiar with the desktop version of Photoshop, you’ll notice this is a little more stripped down, but very useful for editing together a great photo. Photoshop Touch includes basic features that will allow you to add filters, make adjustments, and add layers. You can also use your iPad’s camera to take pictures and directly import them in.
