These iPhone 6 renders look just about right

As news reached us this morning that Apple could launch its next iPhone in mainland China on Thursday, September 25, and given a purported 4.7-inch front panel leaked in a video which suggests the possibility of one-handed use, we now have a better idea of when the device could launch and how it might feel in one's hand.

There has certainly been no shortage of leaked parts thus far, such as the supposed display covers, backplates, LCD parts, manufacturing molds, etc.

The problem with these leaks based on rumors is their crudeness that don't do Apple's industrial design and precision manufacturing a justice. Enter Ukrainian designer Mark Pelin, who has created high-resolution renders that offer arguably the best indication yet of what a finalized design of the iPhone 6 in Space Gray might look like...

Video shows how 5.5″ iPhone 6 would stack up against jumbo-sized Android phones

I wish Apple put me out of my misery and released the iPhone 6 already because an influx of videos comparing those questionable dummy units to just about anything is overwhelming me. Just this morning, for example, I pointed you to a video which shows off the supposed minor changes in the next iPad's design.

Now I've decided to highlight another video that I think does a great job explaining how the bigger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 would compare to popular 5.5-inch Android handsets such as the LG G3, Oppo Find 7 and One Plus One.

It's right after the break so give it a quick watch and join us in comments for a healthy discussion...

iPhone 6 manufacturing mockup shows off Space Grey finish

Earlier this morning, we showed you new photos of a meticulously designed iPad Air 2 dummy unit with Touch ID incorporated into its Home button.

And now, a fresh batch of purported iPhone 6 manufacturing mockups has surfaced, depicting what a Space Gray variant of Apple's upcoming bigger and thinner iPhone model could look like.

Credited to sources in Japan and Korea, the images show the purported mockup next to an iPhone 5s and HTC's One smartphone...

New photos show 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 models side by side

Some new photos of alleged iPhone 6 models surfaced this morning, courtesy of Sonny Dickson. We've seen several photos of physical mockups to date, but these by far offer the best representation of what Apple's next smartphone is expected to look like.

It's believed that the iPhone 6 will come in two display sizes: 4.7 and 5.5-inches, and today's images show the two variants sitting side by side. This not only give us a good idea of the handset's design, but it also indicates how the two models will vary in size...

Beautiful new concept envisions iWatch as a high-end wristwatch

One of the crazier rumors we've heard thus far involving the iWatch comes from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said the accessory may cost as much as 'several thousand dollars.' Kuo is well respected in the Apple community, but this particular prediction seemed a bit off.

That is, unless the iWatch ends up looking like this new concept from Curved/labs that surfaced earlier this week. The site envisions the rumored smartwatch looking like a high-end Rolex, with a digital chronograph face, wireless charging, and several other features...

Size comparison: 3D printed 5.5-inch iPhone 6 mockup vs iPhone 5s

Another day, another iPhone 6 dummy. Based on purportedly leaked design drawings published last month, enthusiast Hidenori Satou has used a MakerBot Replicator 2 3D Printer to produce a mockup of Apple's upcoming 5.5-inch handset. The dummy unit is rather crude and as such is used to highlight the size difference between the current four-inch iPhone 5 and the upcoming 5.5-incher...

Design comparison: final iPhone 6 mockup vs iPhone 5s vs fifth-gen iPod touch

With everyone and their brother 3D printing iPhone 6 mockups, virtually every single day brings another iPhone 6 "leak" that wants to go viral. There's just too much stuff proliferating out there so iDownloadBlog usually only covers the material we specifically deem newsworthy.

This would typically entail photos and footage that bring something new to the conversation, be it a never-before-seen angle, an interesting design choice or other curious detail.

Today's video is no different.

Created by an Italian enthusiast blog, it pits an unusually detailed physical iPhone 6 mockup against the iPhone 5s and the fifth-generation iPod touch, showing the supposed design differences from various angles...

New renders of alleged 4.7-inch iPhone 6 surface

New renderings of what is believed to be the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 surfaced on the web this weekend. We've seen similar drawings before, but this time around the renders have reportedly come straight from primary Apple supplier Foxconn.

The device in the images, which measures 138 x 67mm, lines up with previous information. The design is consistent with the schematic published by MacFan last month, which has since been echoed by multiple cases and dummy units...

Images of alleged white and silver iPhone 6 dummy unit surface

We're adding to the stockpile of alleged 'iPhone 6' evidence this morning with a handful of new photos that purportedly show a white and silver dummy unit of the upcoming handset. The device looks very similar to the slate black unit that surfaced online earlier this week.

While the images don't really offer up much in the way of new details on the smartphone, they do help us continue to paint a picture of what it's believed to look like. Most everything we've seen thus far—from schematic drawings to case leaks—points to a homogenous design...

New photos of alleged iPhone 6 dummy unit show larger, slimmer device

New photos of an alleged 'iPhone 6' dummy unit surfaced this afternoon. The images depict a device that is noticeably larger and thinner than the current iPhone 5s, with rounded corners, and an overall design that matches up with previous information.

There's no word on where the physical mockups came from, and there's obviously no way to determine their validity. But our friends over at Nowhereelse.fr say that the snapshots were published by a long-time member of a well-known Chinese forum...

Case maker’s iPhone 6 renderings show thin design, rear antenna cutouts

A new set of alleged 'iPhone 6' renderings surfaced online yesterday. The images come from Ukrainian website UkrainianiPhone, and the device depicted in them matches up with most everything we've seen thus far on the handset, including its relocated Sleep/Week button and circular iSight flash.

There is one noticeable difference, though, between this iPhone 6 model and the ones that we've seen in the past, and it has to do with the rear shell. Up until now, all of the renderings we've seen have shown a solid back cover. But these new shots suggest that Apple is leaving breaks for the antenna...

New iPhone 6 mockups based on leaked case dimensions and other intel

Well-known designer and concept artist Martin Hajek has teamed up with the folks over at Nowhereelse.fr to create what could be the most accurate iPhone 6 renderings to date. The mockups show a device that was created based on recent information, including MacFan's schematic drawing from last month, and this week's case leak.

For the most part, the renderings match up with everything we've seen thus far regarding Apple's next smartphone. Hajek depicts the iPhone 6 as extremely thin, with rounded corners, and a display that's noticeably larger than current models. It also features a new Sleep/Wake button, which has been moved to the right side of the handset...
