Angela Ahrendts starts role as SVP of Retail and Online Stores at Apple

Angela Ahrendts has left fashion retailer Burberry and started her new position at Apple as the Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores, according to an update to Apple's Executive Profiles website on Friday.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, confirmed on the company's quarterly earnings call last week that Ahrendts would be starting at the Cupertino-based company this week, following now-false rumors she would be staying on at Burberry until June.

Apple highlights “Best of April” in new App Store section

Apple has highlighted its favorite new apps and games from last month in a new Best of April section on the App Store. The best overall app was given to NYT Now, while the award for best overall game went to Leo's Fortune. There are over a dozen other apps included in two categories for "amazing apps" and "great games," many of which were released or significantly updated in April. Steve Jobs tops CNBC’s list of most influential people in last 25 years

As part of its ongoing 25th anniversary celebration, CNBC put together a list of what it believes were the top 25 most influential people in the last 25 years. Dubbed 'First 25: Rebels, Icons & Leaders, the list includes the likes of Jeff Bezos and Oprah Winfrey.

For many, it'll come as no surprise that CNBC ranked Steve Jobs #1 in the list. The outlet said that the co-founder of Apple deserved the top spot because "his vision spurred changes far beyond his industry and put an indelible stamp on the wider culture."

Fortune names Apple’s head of retail Angela Ahrendts #4 in 2013 list of top executives

Last month, Apple announced that it had finally found its new head of retail after nearly a year of searching. Her name is Angela Ahrendts, the current CEO of British fashion house Burberry, and she's believed by many to be a great choice.

Apple again named ‘World’s most valuable brand’ by Forbes

Despite all of the 'doomed' talk, and its share price being down nearly $200 from a year ago, Apple is still the world's most valuable brand. In fact, according to Forbes Magazine, its brand is worth nearly twice that of its closest competitor.

In its annual ranking of 'The World's Most Valuable Brands,' Forbes lists Apple's value at $104.3 billion. That's an increase of 20% from last year, and well above Microsoft and Coca-Cola, which came in second and third respectively...

Apple drops to number 79 on Forbes list of most innovative companies

A report surfaced last week claiming that Apple's Board of Directors are worried about the company's ability to innovate, and they've spoken with Tim Cook about it. The concern follows a near year-long stretch without any major product announcements.
