iWork for iCloud

iWork for iCloud now available to everyone

Apple today removed the beta tag from its iWork for iCloud productivity suite, which it opened up to non-Apple device owners earlier this month. Now, anyone with a modern browser and an Apple ID can utilize the web-based office apps which include Pages, Numbers and Keynote.

As seen in the above screenshot, users who don't have an Apple ID can create one by following the "Create one now" link, regardless of whether or not they own a Mac or iOS device. All that's required is that they give their name, email address, date of birth and pick security questions.

Everyone can now use Pages, Numbers and Keynote for iCloud Beta

Apple wants Windows and Android customers to use its iWork productivity suite as well so they announced that now everyone can use Pages, Numbers and Keynote web applications through the iCloud Beta web interface, even if they don't own Apple devices.

An Apple ID account is still required to access Pages, Numbers and Keynote for iCloud, but the big news is that people can now create an Apple ID on the fly.

As noted by MacRumors, the announcement was made yesterday on the beta.iCloud.com website, indicating that these web apps may soon be accessible through the regular iCloud.com website, too.

iWork for iCloud gets new languages, fonts, easier file renaming and more

Keynote and Numbers have gained support for the same languages with the exception of Arabic and Hebrew. All three web applications have gained easier file renaming and a couple other editing features.

Apple updates iWork for iCloud with new features

In keeping true to its promise of bringing back most of the missing features pulled from its iWork for iCloud web apps following a major rethinking of the productivity suite, Apple on Tuesday rolled out another refresh to web-based Pages, Keynote and Numbers apps.

Features enabled across all three web productivity apps include tips on how to cut, copy and paste using keyboard shortcuts, the ability to right-click to mask images and suggestions for your most recent screen name when opening a shared document.

Apple is on a roll today in terms of software updates. The company has just seeded the third OS X 10.9.2 beta to its registered Mac developers and revamped Pages, Keynote and Numbers on the web (excuse me, iCloud) with a slew of new capabilities, including - finally! - password protection for your iWork documents. Earlier in the day, Apple has managed to post a minor Podcasts app refresh and a bug fix focused update to iMovie for Mac.

And now, new versions of Pages and Numbers for iOS and OS X have arrived plus an enhanced version of Apple's presentation software Keynote with new transitions, improved presenter display options, better Microsoft PowerPoint and iCloud compatibility and more.

iWork for iCloud gets collaboration enhancements, printing and folders

Apple ahead of the September 22 iPad keynote teased "great new features coming to iWork for iCloud". Today, Apple's taken iWork for iCloud further by rolling out several new capabilities such as printing and the ability to organize your documents in folders, right in your web browser. The full list of changes is right after the break...

Apple: ‘great new features’ coming to iWork for iCloud ‘in just a few short hours’

It was two months ago that Apple opened iWork for iCloud to everyone and now it seems the company is getting ready to launch Pages, Keynote and Numbers web apps for public consumption. While visiting beta.icloud.com and logging in with your Apple ID doesn't give it away, try clicking on, say, the Pages icon and you'll be greeted with a message saying "we're updating Pages for iCloud" and a typical Apple tease, "In just a few short hours, you'll be able to create and edit documents, and enjoy great new features"...

Apple now limiting access to iWork for iCloud Beta due to high demand

This past weekend Apple launched iWork for iCloud Beta to developers and non-developers alike, who could check out the suite as long as they had a valid Apple ID account set up to use iCloud on iOS devices. The web apps have reportedly garnered lots of interest, so much so that the company on Monday was forced to limit access to iWork for iCloud.

In other words, Apple's online productivity suite has already become too popular, even though it's currently in beta. Attempting to sign up for the service yields an error prompt with the message saying, "We've had an overwhelming response" to iWork for iCloud apps...
