InvisibleSHIELD HD for iPhone 4S review

By Sebastien Page on Feb 25, 2012

Most of you are probably familiar with the InvisibleSHIELD by Zagg. I’ve done several reviews of these products in the past, and while I don’t like putting screen protectors on my iPhones, I have to admit that I am a huge fan of the InvisibleSHIELD for iPad (read my review for more details).

I do not put screen protectors or use cases on my iPhones. It’s a matter of principle to me. If Apple went out of its way to design such a beautiful product, I see it is my duty to never alter the look and feel of the product in any way. You can call me crazy, that’s fine.

This being said, my wife is the complete opposite. Not only she doesn’t care much about the look and feel of her iPhone, but she badly needs a screen protector at all time because she’s kinda careless about her stuff – you would not believe what can happen inside her purse!

So when the folks at Zagg sent me an InvisibleSHIELD HD for iPhone 4/4S for review, I decided to use it on my wife’s iPhone as she’d be able to tell better than me how well it performs… Read More

Gevey releases SIM unlock for iPhone 4S

By Sebastien Page on Feb 22, 2012

Back in November, the Dev Team announced they had found a very promising iPhone 4S unlock, but there hasn’t been any news on that front ever since. We’ve had an untethered jailbreak for A5 devices for a while, but the cherry on top would be to get a software unlock via UltraSn0w for the iPhone 4S.

While we’re waiting for a software unlock, a few Chinese companies are working on a hardware unlock. We’ve recently heard about new comers who claimed having a SIM interposer unlock for the iPhone 4S – TPSIM and R-SIM – but we can’t recommend those yet as we haven’t been able to give them a try.

Today, Gevey, a familiar name to us, is releasing the Gevey Ultra S unlock for iPhone 4S… Read More

Avoid water damage and more with LifeProof iPhone case

By Cody Lee on Feb 13, 2012

We’ve written about a number of “durable” iPhone cases here on iDB, including the Case-Mate Tank and the RainBallet. And in the comment threads of every one of those posts, readers kept bringing up the LifeProof case. So we figured we would mention it.
